Thank You Tulsa!

On Friday, November 5, 2021, 67 students, of all majors and class years, traveled to Tulsa for a one of a kind Tulsa Immersion Experience.  The experience and time together was grounded in the bold moves that are and have been transforming Tulsa, Oklahoma into a world-class city!  The day gave a first hand look at a city that is creatively tackling complex issues in a collaborative way.   Students experienced Tulsa first hand through:

  • A walking tour of Historic Greenwood – the site of what was once called Black Wall Street and the site of the 1921 Race Massacre
  • Time at the Gathering Place
  • Lunch at the wonderful Mother Road Market and
  • A career fair at the Tulsa City County Library

Langston strives to offer co-curricular activities – learning activities, programs and experiences that reinforce Langston’s mission and values and complement the formal curriculum.  This trip served as a way to help us achieve our mission and sets the stage for more activities to come.

Thank you Tulsa, George Kaiser Family Foundation, The Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Campus Tulsa for an experience that truly touched the lives of Langston students.
