Position Overview
Edgewater Group is seeking motivated students pursuing degrees in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering for a Summer 2026 internship in our Fort Lauderdale office. This is a full-time, in-office role offering hands-on experience in the design, planning, and construction support of waterfront and coastal infrastructure projects. Interns will work closely with licensed engineers on real-world projects while gaining valuable experience in marine design, waterfront development, and resilient coastal engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the preparation of design plans, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Support field investigations, site visits, and data collection for active projects.
- Perform drafting and design support using AutoCAD and related software.
- Conduct basic calculations and analyses under professional supervision.
- Contribute to project coordination, permitting efforts, and quality control tasks.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering (Junior or Senior standing preferred by Summer 2026).
- Strong interest in engineering design and waterfront infrastructure development.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional setting.
- Boating or coastal field experience is a plus!
