Job Title: Communications and Marketing Internship

Position Overview: First Tee Birmingham is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Communications and Marketing Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while contributing to the growth and success of our organization. The intern will work closely with the Executive Director to support various initiatives aimed at promoting our mission and programs.
About First Tee Birmingham: First Tee Birmingham is a nonprofit youth development organization that uses golf as a platform to empower young people to build character and gain valuable life skills. Through a comprehensive curriculum, we provide young individuals with opportunities to develop critical core values such as integrity, respect, and perseverance. Our programs focus on instilling confidence and providing a safe space for personal growth, both on and off the golf course.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and curating content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns.
- Conduct research on marketing and communication strategies to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
- Assist in drafting press releases and other written materials.
- Help with website maintenance and updates.
- Collaborate with the team on special projects and events.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Assist in delivering programming
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and basic knowledge of social media marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools and platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for youth development and the mission of First Tee Birmingham.
- Knowledge of golf is a plus but not required.
Duration and Compensation: This is a part-time internship position for a duration of 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The position offers a competitive wage and flexible work hours.
