Job Title: Ranch Intern

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Approximately 40 – 50 hours per week (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Position Overview:
Fred Smith Company is seeking a motivated and hardworking Ranch Intern to support daily ranch operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with a background or strong interest in agriculture who are eager to gain practical, real-world experience. Most of the work will be performed outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily ranch operations, including livestock care and feeding
- Perform general maintenance of fences, equipment, and facilities
- Support land management tasks such as mowing, planting, and spraying
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of barns and work areas
- Operate ranch vehicles, farm equipment, and tools (training provided as needed)
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Qualifications:
- Background in agriculture, farming, animal science, or a related field preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, and uneven terrain
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor manual labor, including standing, walking, and bending, for extended periods of time.
