Summer Farm Education and Agriculture Intern
For 10 weeks the Summer Farm Education Intern will be split between our education and agriculture teams, working approximately 70% in education and 30% in agriculture overall. The intern will work from approximately 8-1 in our youth programs (summer learning programs for ages 6-10yr olds) and 1:30- 3:30pm in the farm fields with our farmers and farm apprentices, with a paid, social lunch break between. While teaching in our youth programs, the intern will gain a foundation in nature-based education, learn strategies for group management as well as for meeting diverse individual student needs. Working with our agriculture team in the afternoons, interns will learn about regenerative, low-till farming farming practices while helping to complete tasks such as: planting, harvesting, washing/packing, weeding, and irrigation. The week of 6/15 will be with the agriculture team as this week is before our summer youth programs begin and provides an opportunity for you to get a lay of the land and train on farming activities.
