Title: Farm Intern
Location: Acampo, CA 95220
Duration:4+ Months Contract

Shift: M-F: 6 AM to 2:30 PM

Description:
A company truck will be provided for use during the internship (Ford 150) so candidates must be comfortable driving a truck and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications:
basic knowledge of agriculture. Willing to learn. Double checking what’s in the map verses what’s in the field. Able to follow directions; quick learner. Willing to report findings. Good communication skills. There will be two locations — must be able to drive a BASF vehicle to get to the other location.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for returning plants after planting.
  • Watering plants.
  • Plant counting after first week of planting.
  • Replant if needed — be able to identify when this needs to be done.
  • Labeling plants.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Be present with critical tasks, for example, pollination in Esparto location.
  • Flower count for watermelons trial.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1 year of relevant experience or related to specific Agriculture Crop Growing
  • High School degree with 2 years of experience in agriculture.

Work experience:

  • Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in the areas of farm, agriculture and crop management in crops like watermelon, melon, processing tomatoes, hot peppers and lettuces.
