AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineering Intern – Water Resources for employment in the Austin, Texas office.
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

- Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects.
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.
- Candidates must have completed three years of study in their program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- The selected candidate must be available to work in Austin, TX on a scheduled basis.
- Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00/hr.
