Lecturer I – Economics

Salary: $48,396.00
The Economics Department is seeking to fill a lecturer position available Fall 2024. The successful candidate will teach four in-person courses per semester and become a part of our dynamic and expanding Economics Department, which boasts over 500 undergraduate majors and includes fourteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members and three lecturers. Our diverse curriculum supports undergraduate majors in economics and business economics, as well as our emerging interdisciplinary programs in entrepreneurship and healthcare management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Teach and assess learning in face-to-face undergraduate courses in management, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester as assigned by the department chair.
- Maintain a minimum of five office hours per week and a routine presence on campus.
- Maintain correspondence with the department chair and administrative assistant.
- Work with department faculty to ensure continuity of content in courses.
- Participate in faculty meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications: M.B.A. or other Master’s degree in a related field
Preferred Qualifications: College teaching experience; demonstrated commitment to excellence in working with students from diverse backgrounds; and relevant work experience in management and/or entrepreneurship.
